We are pleased to announce that Antonio Macromini will be speaking at the Twelfth International Conference on Climate Change: Impacts & Responses.
Antonio Marcomini, is a professor of environmental chemistry at the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice and head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics, and was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, Canada, and then a research associate at the Polytechnic Institute of Zurich, ETH-EAWAG, Switzerland. Being a coordinator/partner of several international and national research projects, he is author/coauthor of over 300 papers published by international peer reviewed journals, and editor and coauthor of two books (H- index 50, according to SCOPUS). He developed a highly interdisciplinary research using methodological approaches and tools borrowed from chemistry, ecology, and environmental science. His main current research subjects include development and application of environmental risk assessment procedures; risk-based decision support systems addressing climate change and sustainability; and environmental behaviour of priority and emerging chemical contaminants, including the effect of climate change. He is and has been coordinator and/or scientifically responsible of several international competitive projects funded by the European Commission, the European Environmental Agency, World Bank, etc.. He is a member of national (e.g. Ministry of the Environment, Venice Water Authority) and international (e.g. European Science Foundation, EuChemS) advisory/expert committees on environmental quality. His current teaching activities include courses on analysis of climate change impacts, risks, and vulnerability; climate change and environmental contamination for master and PhD students in environmental science and science and management of climate change. He is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the Italian Chemistry Society (SCI), the international Society of Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology (SETAC),and is a recipient of SCI and Ca’ Foscari awards for outstanding research.
