Broken – not automatically setting files to category

This template is supposed to add files automatically to Category:Derivative versions but it isn't. Here's the evidence: there are 79940 transclusions[1] but the category only has 84, and these are there because they have been manually added[2]. Senator2029 12:43, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

@Senator2029:  Done and I removed the manually-categorized - should only be by the template. The category is now active, but you know it can last a very long time until all 79940 files are inserted; it can be forced with an edit (even a 'null'-edit). -- sarang♥사랑 13:39, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Many thousends (of these 79949) are not transclusions but just template links, linked from User:Ralf Roletschek/Veränderungen. I unlinked them, so in future only transclusions will be shown. -- sarang♥사랑 16:55, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Use of 'by' inconsistently localized

This template seems to be intended to reference Template:By between image titles and authors. However, this doesn't seem to reliably happen, such as when I set the page language to Esperanto (eo). I've checked, and Template:By has a value set for eo, and the text behaves fine when I set the page language to German.

If this is not the correct place to raise this issue, please let me know and I will bring it up elsewhere.
