Description
Deutsch: Am Südende des Platzes Place de l'Alma, Paris, steht diese originalgroße Nachbildung der Flamme der amerikanischen Freiheitsstatue in New York, gestiftet von der New Yorker Zeitung Herald Tribune. Der Place de l'Alma trägt seinen Namen von zum Gedenken an die Schlacht von Alma (1854) während des Krimkrieges (1853-1856). Seit dem tödlichen Unfall von Lady Diana Spencer Ende August 1997 in der Unterführung unter dem Place de l'Alma, wurde diese Skulptur durch Touristen zu ihrer inoffiziellen Pariser Gedenkstätte.
